"Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City relies heavily upon the support of volunteers and partner organizations to provide funding and help further our mission to create life-changing friendships within our community. CLICKC members have been excellent supporters of our organization since 2015 by participating in our largest annual fundraiser, Summer Bowl for Kids' Sake. This event brings together 2,500 participants who collectively fundraise over $735,000 to support our efforts to serve more at-risk children. CLICKC members have provided over $2,000 in funding through this event. Another large contribution came from CLICKC founding member, Lance Collins, who was a 2015 Kansas City’s Most Wanted Honoree. Through Lance’s participation as an Honoree in the annual Most Wanted Auction he raised an additional $8,000 for the agency by utilizing his personal resources and connections to create a unique live auction package that went up for bids at the event. Our agency greatly appreciates CLICKC's commitment to supporting BBBSKC and the power of one-to-one mentoring and we look forward to working together for years to come.

Tiffany Bruce, BBBSKC Development Director

Founded locally in 1964, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBSKC) has served more than 20,000 at-risk youth in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Serving over 1,700 youth in Kansas City each year, BBBSKC provides children facing adversity in one-to-one life-changing friendships with adult mentors. BBBSKC matches school-aged youth (Littles) from one-parent or other non-traditional homes, with caring, adult volunteers (Bigs).

BBBSKC believes that youth who have a positive adult influence in his or her life are better able to reach their full potential. BBBSKC offers at-risk children a long-term developmental relationship with a caring adult. Bigs serve as friends, mentors and role models, helping youth gain greater self-confidence and leadership skills. This model has been proven effective in changing the self-image of the child and therefore his or her behavior.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission: To create and support life-changing friendships for children

The Big Brothers Big Sisters Vision: To create positive change within our community through the power of one-to-one mentoring.

CLICKC efforts to support BBBSKC thus far have included participating in Summer Bowl for Kids’ Sake in 2015 & 2016 as well as providing a 2015 Kansas City’s Most Wanted Honoree to participate in the annual Most Wanted Auction.

These collective efforts have raised nearly $10,000 for BBBSKC in the last 2 years. While CLICKC generally does not act as a fundraising arm for other non-profits, we have a special and on-going relationship with BBBSKC in that their Director of Special Events, Erica Ostroski, is a CLICKC board member and active volunteer.
